About Our Photography
We take five kinds of pictures: People, Landscapes & Architecture, Food, Fashion and Horticultural. We’re also expert users of Photoshop and make special effects photos.
1. People Pictures
Call them portraits if you must. We don’t like getting too formal – it ruins the moment. We prefer natural light and candid situations where a little bit of character is revealed.
2. Food
We think food and products look best in their natural environments. Think of it as candid tabletop.
3. Landscapes and Architecture
Our focus on natural light leads to some projects outdoors “Magic Hour” presents some technical challenges but is our favorite time of day.
4. Fashion
We like to see fashion on the move and in the street. Our long experience with fashion (over 20 years) gives us a keen eye for fit, style and attitude.
5. Horticultural
We always taken pictures of plants. In the last year, we completed a project photographing 27 farms in Eastern North Carolina. For the most part, we see plant photography as a close-up medium.
Goodtree & Co also tackles many specialized photographic situations including panoramic flash banners, retouching, composites and special effects.
