TV Site: Schaffer Rogers

Cary, NC – Here’s a site we just completed for a client who totally gets the power of a personal publishing platform.
Perry Schaffer and Corey Rogers have been pillars of the commercial production industry for more than a decade. In essence, they connect film directors with ad agencies for big-time commercial projects.
The goal was to create a platform for them talk about all the great work from their clients – Nike, Citroen, Publix and Virgin to name a few. Their directors have been nominated for Academy Awards, Cannes Lions (I’ve got one of those) and have been featured at SXSW. In short, Schaffer-Rogers are players.
The site had to be modern, interactive and polished. We chose WordPress.
Post Perry Post
They key to getting the most from social media is a stream of content.
Folks who think a website is an event – as opposed to a process – are sadly mistaken. Not so Perry and Corey.
They created 92 posts in less than a month during our beta period. When we launched, they had a full and complete site (not a ‘starter set’).
Even more impressive, they continue to create quality content post-launch. 8 posts in the last week. And it’s good stuff – original content, not scrapes from other sites or printed material republished on the web.
Am I surprised? Not at all. Perry founded the social portal Wheresspot for TV producers back in the late 1990′s. And it was Perry who turned me on to Twitter in the fall of 2008.
Corey balances Perry skills with a few mad tricks of his own. He’s an experienced user of Photoshop and HTML.
Between the two of them, they are the full package.
Prediction: they will do well with their new site.
Nuts and Bolts
Goodtree & Co. built the new site on WordPress (self-hosted). We skinned it with the Prolific theme.
After that, it was all ‘off-roading’ in a development sense.
We hacked the sidebars to deploy custom branding for each category on the site. We baked in Perry’s twitter feed and expanded the header. We changed the color of key site elements including CSS styles, ket graphic elements and even the JQuery carousel.
Perry & Corey were very specific about the level of ‘fit and finish’ they wanted for their new site. They challenged us. They reinvested in areas they felt needed more attention.
The result is a tight, efficient, Class-A site.
Is WordPress Right For You?
We can make WordPress do almost anything necessary for business communication.
We can use WP to dominate search. We can customize for e-Commerce, medicine, real estate and much more. We can use the platform to generate daily emails, post to Twitter or scrape your Twitter posts into your blog.
Not everyone is Perry & Corey. That’s why we also have a growing trade in “ghost posting.” A few months of regular, quality posts can make a world of difference to a business.

[...] is almost awkward but how could we not post this. Hal Goodtree posted this about us and this site. Without his fine work, would not have been possible. GREAT JOB HAL!!! [...]
